[Link] | CONTEST TIME - WIN ART AND MONEY!
Basically this is a "draw my character" contest plus money in addition to art prizes to motivate people. I threw a contest a few years back and I promised myself not to do it ever again, but there you go. Everything you need to know can be found below
GUIDELINES
☛ No sex and drugs, rock and roll is optional
☛ Violence and gore is a yes if a) Kalamu is involved and b) she’s not at the receiving end of it
☛ None of the characters except for Night and Day usually interact with each other, being from different universes and all. But for this contest I don’t mind at all if you have them in the same picture. Night and Day can either be seen together, or not. It doesn’t really matter. It’s all very flexible, dudes
☛ Feel free to insert your own characters!
☛ You may enter more than once, but one artist = one entry when handing out the prizes
☛ All kinds of visual media allowed
CHARACTERS
Kalamu: Nasty gryphon thing with an affinity for blood (and long walks on the beach)
Night and Day: Sugomorphic and anthropomorphic personifications respectively, mythological beasts minus the beast part
Xilmior: Might or might not be an angel. I know he’s not
Dandruff: Death’s pet of ambiguous species
JUDGING
Judging will be based on effort, creativity and artistic execution. I take all these into consideration when judging, but in my book effort and creativity is better than artistic execution alone
For example, a fun and interesting piece where the character(s) is interacting with the surroundings or doing something besides just standing there will have more chance of winning than a portrait with Awesome Rendering (TM)
Backgrounds are a plus, but not necessary at all
PRIZES
Note: Currency is US dollars and a.b.m. = art by me
<10 entries
1st place: $30 + a.b.m (one character plus background)
2nd place: $15 + a.b.m (coloured sketch)
10-20 entries
1st place: $45 + a.b.m (one character plus background)
2nd place: $30 + a.b.m (one character, simple background)
3rd place: $15 + a.b.m (coloured sketch)
>20 entries
1st place: $80 + a.b.m. (two character plus background)
2nd place: $55 + a.b.m (one character plus background)
3rd place: $35 + a.b.m (one character, simple background)
Honorable mentions for
Most Creative and Closest To Character: $10 + a.b.m. (coloured sketch)
DEADLINE
1st of January 2010 - you have roughly three months to complete your piece

[Link] | I haven't been doin much art lately, mainly loose sketches and random crap not worthy of the bandwith

[Link] | Happy Earth Day people in LJ-land! I always forget I have this corner of the web at my disposal, which is why I've yet to reply to anyone from my previous post. Thanks for all the kind words on that, I'll see if anything can be done about the lack of replies now
Someone (when I asked people in my private blog about it) requested something B/W from me, and I didn't think I could pull it off. Until today that is. This was completely random, I wanted to do a portrait of a moskuan - a fictional species of mine. This is no one in particular as I've yet to pin down the design of the couple of moskuan characters I have. The cig is only there because cigs can only make a work of art better
Nothing too NSFW under the cut, depending on whether your emlpoyer likes fox boobs or not I guess
